As an English business based in
Buenos Aires, Playargentina has first hand knowledge
of many of the Spanish schools in Argentina.
There are many schools in Argentina that market their
courses stating they use professional and qualified
teachers, dynamic course material at competitve prices
but infact fall well short of what students expect on
arrival.
As a result, Playargentina has developed a partnership
with a highly regarded Spanish School based in Buenos
Aires. The school has an excellent worldwide
reputation to deliver the teaching practices and course
work approved by Western University standards. The school
caters for over 1000 students per year and has a long
list of excellent references.
Teachers
All the teachers hold a Masters Degree in Education
and/or Literature and are have many years of teaching
Spanish students of varying degrees of ability and experience.
Students
Students who decide to take group classes must take
an oral and written placement evaluation in order to
determined their level of Spanish.
Furthermore, the school only teachs a maximum of 6 per
group which allows students to maximise their time in
class.
Many of our students who are studying Spanish at University
or are furthering their studies in some other capacity
often want to progress through Literature, Argentine
History, Culture and Politics. Advanced courses cater
for this and have proved to be very popular.
Course Programmes and Materials
The initial evaluation and the constant supervision
of each student assures that the course is adjusted
to meet the needs of each student.
The methodology that has been developed over many years
of experience has resulted in an excellent combination
of grammar and communicative content.
The school has publilised and has copyright for its
own course material, designed as a progressive understanding
of Spanish grammar from the very basics to the more
advanced stages.
In class, grammar is practiced through listening comprehension
and role plays as well as written exercises.
Once the grammatical foundation has been laid, vocabulary
is extended through active group debates and interchanges
with an emphasis on Literature, Argentine History, Culture
and Politics.
From the levels intermediate III and advanced I and
II, the students participate in more formal scenarios
such as interviews, lecture note taking, group presentations
and exercises with audio/ video material of different
degrees of complexity and diversity. The material used
for the advanced levels is selected from current affairs
used by a native Argentinian with a University degree
or superior education.
