Argentina has a superb reputation
for the ultimate Andean Ski adventure.
Take a plane for an hour and a half from Buenos Aires
and only 43 miles from the airport of Malargue and you
discover the highest and most sophisticated Ski resort
in Argentina.
Las Leñas opened in 1983 and now has a capacity
of over 3000 beds. It boasts 60 km of runs which offers
skiers and snowboarders descents to suit all abilities.
The main feature which is something not to miss is the
Marte ski lift. The lift takes you from the steep bowl
directly under the marte chairlift to Edaward's 48 degree
Couloir. There are literally hundreds of chutes between
40 and 50 degree plus.
Along with the snowcast tours and the steep terrain, it
is easy to understand why Las Lenas has the reputation
as the best resort in Argentina.
Not only is the Skiing legendary but the nightlife also
has a reputation of it's own. If you are able to muster
the energy to party through the night after a day of the
slopes then look no further than the Clubs and Discos
that rock through out the night.
